Computer-Assisted Corneal Topography High-Resolution Grophic Presenrorion ond Anolysis of Keroroscopy
نویسنده
چکیده
Keratoscopy is a useful clinical tool for the evaluation of topographic abnormalities of the corneal surface. However, not all the detailed information presented by keratoscope photographs is assessed easily by visual inspection. A computer-based analysis system therefore was developed to assist in the clinical interpretation of keratoscope images. With this system, deviations from sphericity are displayed in graphic form to aid in the recognition of abnormalities, and surface powers are presented in tabular form. Human eyes that are emmetropic, and eyes with keratoconus and severe astigmatism were analyzed. This process provides a useful quantitative method with which to determine corneal shape, as well as a useful adjunct to the clinical evaluation and teaching of keratoscopy. In addition, such a quantitative analysis may provide the basis for the development of new techniques for the correction of visual distortion caused by corneal surface irregularities. Corneal Ectasis among Wrestlers: Report of Two Cases
Report keratoconus in two patients with a long history of wrestling without any risk factor for corneal ectasia and reviewing the possible pathogenesis. To confirm suspicion of keratoconus, corneal topography was performed using scanning slit topography system and Orbscan. In two wrestlers with the complaint of visual loss in their eyes and IOP raising, corneal topography was performed and de...
متن کاملA New Clinical Instrument for the Early Detection of Cataract Using Dynamic Light Scattering and Corneal Topography
A growing cataract can be detected at the molecular level using the technique of dynamic light scattering (DLS). However, the success of this method in clinical use depends upon the precise control of the scattering volume inside a patient’s eye and especially during patient’s repeat visits. This is important because the scattering volume (cross-over region between the scattered light and incid...

PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy and safety of laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy (LASEK) for the treatment of myopia and astigmatism (low, moderate and high). MATERIAL AND METHODS Laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy was performed by 3 surgeons in 45 eyes using an INPRO Gauss Excimer laser (31 eyes) or a NIDEK EC-5000 Excimer Laser (14 eyes). The mean follow-up is 9 months (3-15 mo...

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was the evaluation of cycloplegic effect of homatropine 2% on central corneal curvature and power. 43 volunteers who participated in the study were examined. Thirty-nine of them (28 men and 11 women) which had normal eyes with visual acuity of 20/20 and a mean age of 29.6 ± 6.7 years were selected. Then corneal topography was performed on both eyes. After per...
متن کاملAsymmetrical Corneal Topography in Map-Dot-Fingerprint Dystrophy Resembling Keratoconus
Map-dot-fingerprint dystrophy cause painless blurred vision due to irregular astigmatism. Corneal topography may show asymmetry and irregularity and can resemble keratoconus. Two patients with map-dot dystrophy with unilateral blurring of vision are presented that were misdiagnosed as keratoconus due to asymmetric corneal topography. Medical treatment with hypertonic saline and lubrication in o...
